A cloudy, rainy day!

Wow - it has been days since I last made an entry and I am just shocked at how fast the time goes by. I continue to think about this whole idea of lifelong learning and keeping the mind busy and sharp. The complexity of technology and how easy it is for some people passed a certain age to resist its charms. I am the only person you know who does not have a cellphone. Three generation's of phone - when Caroline was 5 (in 2000) she called me on her Mom's cellphone from the church parking lot. When her Mom was 5 (in 1971) we moved and had to choose between a party line and a private line. And when I was 5 in 1950, I could pick up the phone in Caledonia, NY and ask Doris (the operator) to get my Uncle Buster at work. I noticed a copy of Electronic Game Monthly in the Youth Library and laughed out loud - I am so out of touch. Caroline called me to task for saying I had a Gameboy -- as apparently I have a newer, more technological Nintendo DS. I remembered that I gave Chris (my nephew) a Gameboy for his 10th birthday in 1990 several years before Caroline was even born and that my son, Michael played on a first generation Atari.
